The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have an extra piece of hardware in practice on Monday after players of the 2021 Grey Cup winning team were presented with their championship rings during an event on Saturday night.

In December The Blue Bombers became the first CFL team since the 2010 Montreal Alouettes to repeat as Grey Cup champions, defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in overtime with 33-25 in Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.

Winnipeg was trailing the Tiger-Cats 22-10 at the end of the fourth quarter, but they scored 15 points unanswered. A field goal of 13 yards by Hamilton led to overtime and the quarterback Zach Collaros threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Darvin Adams on Winnipeg's initial game in the extra time frame which was followed by a 2-point touchdown pass for Rasheed Bailey.

The rings, that commemorate the team's overtime victory of 33-25 against Hamilton Tiger-Cats Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 108th Grey Cup, were unveiled during a private celebration in IG Field on the night of Saturday.

One of the rings has an etching of an actual photo of supporters during the season 2021 at IG Field.

The rings also have the Bombers "W" logo on top of a picture that depicts the Grey Cup and the bottom section is decorated with 33 diamonds that represent the points that the teams scored during the championship game.

On the outside on the rings is the phrase "Back-to-Back to honor of the team that took home the Grey Cup in both 2019 and 2021.

"It almost made me break down and cry," huge offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick told bluebombers.com.

The rings were manufactured in the United States by Baron Championship Rings, the same company that created the team's rings for 2019. A design committee, that comprised Bombers team members Nic Demski and Adam Bighill, Adam Bighill and Willie Jefferson along with the team's content director Rheanne Marcoux, was involved in the development of the rings.
